We’ve made some really amazing videos with Andrew York over the years. The first session was Andy playing pieces from his CD Yamour on an 1888 Torres, and the video of the title track has become our most viewed video to date on YouTube with over 400,000 views now. Last year we recorded his new suite Equations of Beauty on Julian Bream’s 1957 Hauser II over at Apogee’s Berkeley St Studios. So when we got another 1888 Torres in we immediately thought we’d see if Andy was down to record another piece for us. As it turns out he had just the piece, Home, a new piece he hadn’t recorded properly and that he thought would be perfectly suited to an instrument like this one. So here’s Andrew York playing Home on a gorgeous 1888 Antonio de Torres from the Russell Cleveland collection.

  1. Andrew York on a Hauser – doesn’t get much finer than that! A beautiful piece on a beautiful guitar.

Is this piece available in sheet music?

  3. Whoops – Torres that is, of course!

Such a wonderful, subtle and fine musician… of course he could do that on any guitar, but the Torres doesn’t hurt either, and he is tangibly enjoying playing the guitar…
