Valseana CD Cover

Well, it’s finally available. ‘Valseana’ is a CD project produced by David Collett at GSI in which guitarist Marc Teicholz plays 18 waltzes on 18 historic or otherwise remarkable guitars. It was a long time in the making, and we’re really proud of it. It just may be the only way you’ll get to hear Hausers and Torreses and other amazing guitars side by side – and you really can hear the difference. Not to mention that Marc really dove into this project and chose some fantastic pieces. You can check it out here, or you can read a bit about what inspired the project in the first place in this article, which we’ll follow up soon with interviews with Marc and David about the making of the CD.

  1. John Saldivar says:

Are any Chopin waltzes performed on this record? I’ve read accounts of Barrios playing one of the really fast waltzes that took him 15 years to learn. But no mention of which one it was. I’ll bet Tarrega played excerpts of the waltzes as well not only the preludes he transcribed.
