Hey all,

I know there's been talk of microphones for flamenco guitars, but I know a few excellent players around San Diego that have installed Fishman pickups in their really nice Miguel Rodriguez flamencos. I had an AG-series under-saddle installed on my cheaper (maybe about $1000) guitar and I'm pretty satisfied with it.

In a few years, I'm planning to invest in a nicer guitar once I start actually making money off of my playing. For flamenco, do you all like any pickups better than what Fishman has to offer? Preference for under-saddle or soundboard? Am I evil for thinking of using a pickup?

I've had good results with Pick-up the World pickups (model #40) installed under the bridge. They use two pickups, one on either end of the bridge to achieve a stereo effect.
Just make sure your luthier knows what they are doing. The guy I had put mine in, although he is a well respected luthier in my area and actually specializes in electrifying acoustic instruments, left too much saw dust inside the guitar and the pickups didn't stick. They fell out 5 minutes after I got it home and started playing.

Yeah I was worried about the under the soundboard ones getting knocked off eventually from the golpe. I'll do some research on the one you mentioned.

Hi
I got very much expieriance with under Saddle pickups...
The best pick ups for professional use are theese from Juan Carlos ! the price range is from 300-800 Euro... I got very good Experiance with the CP-1F professional endpin System...on Youtube there are detailed infos... belive me there is no other pick up system that is so fast ... without feed back..and that is one of the most important points on stage - espezially when You play not alone.... ; in the Cheaper Price range I would say that the Shadow under Saddle pick up Nannoweb Endpin Systems are the best on Market (i also use them..>).
Rock on
