Gig bag or hard case?

To a gig? Always a hard case. Everywhere else, I use a gig bag (as long as I'm not transporting my Contreras, of course. That always gets a hard case.)

Hard Case when you travel. I had a bad experience with a gig bag once - freak accident of course, but if it were a hard case there would have been no problem. The hard case is helpful if the instrument is in a hot or cold car.

Of course, there was the time that someone "borrowed" a beautiful flamenco guitar which Wm. Del Pilar custom built for me from my car. I'm still waiting for it to be returned some 35 years later. Hard case did not matter.
