Hello bobby,
We carry several types of supports which all allow your feet to remain flat on the floor. This can help alleviate back strain and improve playing posture.
Check these out:

Gitano Guitar Support (http://www.guitarsalon.com/store.php?it=ACGIT0X-02669)

I abandoned using a foot rest about 8 months ago and started sitting on a chair low enough that allowed my left leg to angle just slightly upward from hip to knee.
It's the most comfortable sitting postion I've ever used and seems to put my body in a very natural position. Absolutely no back pain, cramping, fatique, etc. The balance of the guitar, and my access to the fingerboard is better than any other position I've used.
For anybody that has struggled with discomfort while playing, I suggest you give this a try.

Try an 'Efel' support. They're the cheapest I seen and work really well. Also very easy to take on and off your guitar.
