hi all,

I am a conservatory student studying classical guitar and have regular recitals and need a major guitar upgrade but i am confussed and need help. I've come up with three potential models they are Almansa Gran Proffesional Jacaranda, Jose Ramirez 1a, and an Alhambra Julia.
or can your suggest another.
My current guitar is an almansa 459 model.

Hi Tone,

Of the three guitars you mention, the Ramirez will probably be the most powerful, especially if you choose a 1A Tradicional. As a serious student you will probably be playing in ensembles as well as doing solo recitals; either way, volume and projection will be an issue, and the Tradicional will be the best equipped to deal with this. My experience with Almansa is limited, but my understanding is that it is a factory made guitar of good/moderate quality. The Alhambra will probably be higher in quality than the Almansa, but it will still have a hard time competing with the Ramirez.

There may be other guitars that would work well, but it also depends on your price range, of course. What is your budget like?

Hope this helps,
Miguel, GSI
