Hi guys

Is anybody familiar with the Cervantes Signiture series of guitars. If so how would you compair them to the quality of the Ramirez 4e? The reason for the inquiry is I'm looking for a high end intermidiate level guitar under $2000. Any help, suggestion, or insites would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi Steve,

Regarding Cervantes guitars, as far as I know he is a builder from Mexico, and some time ago he moved his shop to San Diego, CA. My experience with their guitars is limited, and unfortunately their website seems to be missing a lot of info at the moment.
Regarding Ramirez, the 4E is basically the best student guitar the workshop produces. Retail on these is considerably above $2000 though. Have you tried a 2E? It may be a good alternative for you. Feel free to give us a call and I'll be happy to guide you through the different models, and perhaps even other possibilities that may work for you.

Hope this helps,
Miguel

Thanks Miguel

I got a little suspicious when a salesman for the company described their sigature series as being far better than the Ramirez 1a. I had to ask someone that might know. Especially at 3rd the price.

Hi Steve,

I bought a Ramirez 2CWE (classical/electric with a cutaway) in March and I have to say that I absolutely love it. The sound is gorgeous no matter what I play. My instructor loves it and plays it every chance I give him. :) The guitar retailed for $3,000, but I bought it for $1,800.

I played a lot of different guitars when I was looking. When I picked up the Ramirez and played the first note on it, though, it just sang to me and I had to have it.

thank you Sharon

How does it sound without being plugged in, compared to those not intended for both?

Hi Steve,

I play it mostly unplugged. It sounds just beautiful. The tone is warm and, pardon the expression, ballsy. :D I have a pretty eclectic repertoire, and it all sounds great on my Ramirez.

I plug the amp in once a week and play a few pieces just so I won't be distracted by the amped sound when I play out.
