Hi guys
I'm trying to find the sheet music for Stanley Myers "cavatina". I've been to a ton of free music sites, but still can't locate it. Any body got a source?

How about the tablature for cavatina?
It doesn't really compare to the notation, but you know the tune, and if you are going to memorise it anyway what difference does it make.
If you really want to sight read the piece, you can convert the tab into notation using software such as 'Finale - Print Music'. This can sometimes be a real challenge, especially when the tab doesn't show notational spacing.
A great exercise if you are learning to read music!
You can find the tab at;

Jon............thanks alot. I hadn't seen this site before. Although I try to avoid TAB because it makes me lazy, if that's the choice, I'll take it.
thanks again

Yeah, I knew that site was there too - but I am just starting to learn how to read music, and tablature, I believe, will be my worst enemy! I figured that I'd make Cavatina my first piece of music learnt, from the staff :wink:
Having said that, is there any pointers or hints anyone ca give me for learning how to read music (treble clef) ??? :?:

here it is: http://alt.venus.co.uk/weed/music/classtab/welcome.htm
this site has a huge amount of tab. music. generally it is pretty much on the target albeit the timing may not be quite correct as compared to the old fashion way. but, again, that is general rule of tab. sheet music. if the above did not come out in a link, just type away. i have used a few of them and if you know the piece with respect to rhythm and how it should sound you will probably be ok. enjoy.

In regard to willis' link to Dirk's guitar page:
That is a nice site to find free sheet music, but all of it is made w/ tabedit (or however you spell it). That means it has standard notation and tablature. It's annoying to look at, and it's annoying to print. Also, i don't think there's much fingering at all. But it's better than nothing. you can always go through the tab to finger the standard notation.

Stevec asked about sheet music for Cavatina by Stanley Myers. Sorry for the late reply, but I just joined today. The sheet music for solo guitar in standard notation w/ tab is published by EMI and distributed by Hal Leonard, Item No. HL00663006 with a list price of $3.95. I special ordered mine from Hal Leonard about 4 years ago, so I think it's still in print. It's pretty close to the Williams recording.
