Does anybody have or know where I could find a copy of the chart for Yesterday by The Beatles for classical guitar? I heard this song played on a classical guitar and I would like to learn it. Thanks in advance :?:

Let me guess.... Jose Manuel Dapena?

Yes, it is a nice recording. Unfortunately I can't help you, but if it's any concellation, I worked out the main part of it - and that says something. He plays it in C with A lot of expressive dynamics and accents

I have two versions in books: The Beatles for Classical Guitar arranged by Joe Washington, Music Sales 1974--Out of print now, but someone may have a copy floating around.

Beatles for Classical Guitar arranged by Larry Beekman. Hal Leonard HL00699073, (ISBN 0-7935-2527-6) 1988 possibly also out of print, but you have a better chance of finding this one. Both are in C, but I think the Washington arrangement is superior (and somewhat more difficult).

It wouldn't surprise me if you could find sheet music for Yesterday floating around on the internet since it has been recorded and arranged so much. My former teacher probably had two or three other versions as well.

John: I will try and find either of the two books at my local guitar shop, because I haven't been able to find it on the internet, except for tab which I don't particularly like. But in the meantime if is not much to ask, would it be possible for you to fax me a copy of the Joe Washington arrangement? Here is my fax number (619) 661-2942. Thanks :!:

Roberto,

I wrote down your number. Give me a couple of days to find a good photocopier that can reduce the score without distortion.

I have a classical arrangement in a book named"Great Songs For Fingerstyle Guitar" by Hal Leonard Corporation in Milwaukee. Purchased the book about two years ago at a music store here in Richmond,VA so I assume it's still available. Arrangement is in standard notation and Tab form. I paid $10.95 at retail. Difficulty is intermediate so it's very playable. Enjoy!

Dear Roberto:
Is my pleasure to let you know that I have a copy of the Australian Joe Washington Beatles for Classical Guitar in great condition. I like the Beatles for classical guitar too, and I was a Beatle Fan before born . If you like "Yesterday" that much, then, you probably like "Michelle" from the same book. One more thing. Try to get the Leo Brouwer CD : "From Yesterday to Penny Lane" played by the cuban guitarrist Rey Guerra. This is amazing, and this guy is, believe it or not, one of the best guitar player of the world.
The CD has like 8 great Beatles songs arranged by Leo Brouwer using his great skills as a composer. " Eleanor Rigby" and "Yesterday" just to mention two of the best ones, being Eleanor Rigby in my opinion a clasical piece that John Lennon mixed with some words.
Thanks.

Do any of you know the wonderful arrangements of Beatles songs made by the japanese composer Toru Takemitsu? I have a recording of them by Oscar Cáceres on an LP from de 1980´s and I´ve been hooked ever since.

The sad thing is that I have never been able to get the scores (being too lazy to learn by ear).
