I recently stumbled upon a website for John Williams' Magic Box, here is the link: http://www.sonyclassical.com/music/89483/

The music here is amazing. I think it is beautiful, truly beautiful. The streaming Window Media is worth a watch, too.

Has anyone else heard of this CD? I'd lve to find sheet music for John Williams; does he release sheet music for his CDs?

Tell me what you guys think 8)

Hi edwardcav,
This being my first post (or reply) on this forum I would just like to take the opportunity to say hello to all the members.
As far as I know Mr. Williams does not publish any of his transcriptions (unfortunately ), however this being the case most of his more traditional pieces are available in various transcriptions from a variety of artists. I'm currently working on Paganini's "Caprice #24" in A minor (inspired by Mr. William's brilliant rendition), by collecting some of the available transcriptions and amalgamating them into my own, somewhat successfully.
Like everything Mr. Williams puts his mark on "The Magic Box" is excellent and intreresting. May I recommend an article in the May/June 2002 Fingerstyle Guitar magazine issue No.42 which contains an excellent interview with Mr. Williams about this CD, this particular issue also has a transcription of the title track "The Magic Box" both in standard notation and tabulature. I would highly recommend you seek out this issue if you are interested in this particular CD, it may elucidate some of what Mr. Williams was trying to convey in this particular venture. If you have trouble locating this issue let me know and I'll happily make mine available to you.
My e-mail address is; classicalmark@mac.com. I hope this is of some assistance to to you.
Happy playing :D ,
Mark

I live in Australia as a couple of the other forum members know and give me a hard time for, so I am unsure how I'm gonna get this. But I'll try!

Thanks Sharon and Mark. I love this music, and have my copy comig for my birthday  And it just so happens, that agic Box sounds my favourite, along with Engome. Engome has such a distinct intro, haha like a riff.

If you liked Magic Box, then you will love the latest one by John Williams - El Diablo Suelto.

I can't wait to get it. Every track (all 26 of them!!!) sounds fantastic!!!!

Venezuelan music dedicated to Allirio Diaz - from what I've read. Love to know more! 8)

edited - got the cd today, it is top stuff! Much more solo guitar than Magic Box, will post full review soon for anyone interested.
