View Full Version : Isbin's guitar?
I like Sharon Isbin's lastest CD. The picture on the front shows a strange looking guitar with a "slanted" top. Is there a name for that design? What is the reason for this design? I am not looking for a new guitar and do not need a professional instrument anyway. I am having a blast with the one I just bought, so I'm just curious.

thomas humphrey is the luthier, the model is the millineum. the downward sloping top allows greater access to the fret board. there are other advantages you can read about at t.h.'s website.

What a neat website! Has anyone played a Thomas Humphrey? Or a millenium for that matter? I'd be interested in playing one, but boy - are they expensive!
Well I did the next best thing and bought the Martin-Humphrey. It plays like a dream. I really like the radiused fretboard too. The tone and playability are wonderful. I do have the cheaper model ( cedar top and laminated rosewood sides and back) but this is one guitar that I'll never part with.

Phil,
Try asking him, he has a link for those who would pose a question.
If you find out share it with us all.
Respectfully,
Mark
