Unfortunately, we don't currently carry those titles. But they sound interesting. Where did you hear about them, and what can you tell us about them?

Hey Jonny,
"The Segovia Style" is available from Homespun Video and can be purchased from the following link;
http://www.homespuntapes.com/catagory/default.asp?catID=31&ctype=s
This video shows no footage of the Maestro himself instead it's more of a commentary on his style from Mr. Fisk with performance examples by the same. With that said it does have a good transcription of J.S. Bach's Prelude (BWV 999) with Mr. Fisk performing it for the veiwer. However Mr. Fisk seems to approach this piece more as an atheletic challenge instead of a musical one, priding himself on the tempo in which he performs this masterpiece (he can be quite nauseating at times).
I obtained a copy of Andres Segovia "The Song Of The Guitar" on ebay for a modest price. Unfortunately :evil: my copy is PAL formated which means it's incompatible with U.S. VHS players. It was filmed in 1976 and I'm dying to see it, the liner notes describe it as such;
"In the Alhambra, at night he plays pieces that have long been associated with him and his extraordinary career."
The complete set listed includes;
Capricho by I. Albeniz
La Maja de Goya by E. Granados
Torre Bermeja by I. Albeniz
Sonata in D by D. Scarlatti
Minuet by J.P. Rameau
Minuet by F. Sor
Ballet & Allegretto by M. Ponce
Etude by D. Aguado
Gavotte by J.S. Bach
Prelude by F. Chopin
Sonatina by F.M. Torroba
Leyenda by I. Albeniz
El Noy de la Mare trad. Catalan
You can tell by this set list that it is a must see (I guess I'll have to fly to the U.K.)
Let us know if you have any luck finding a form compatible with U.S. VHS or DVD players.
Good luck,
Mark

hello. you may want to check out Teldec Video (distributor) once their website comes back up. i had gotten a copy of The Song of the Guitar a while back from an online store which no longer carries it (i'll keep looking around though). it's an interesting video which shows Segovia at age 84. this is the 2nd film from Christopher Nupen on Segovia (the 1st being Segovia at Los Olivos which features a "younger" Segovia - age 75). i don't know if it will help any, but the product number on the video is 9031-70773-3.
another two Segovia films that may be of interest are The Segovia Legacy: A Tribute to the Memory & Artistry of Andres Segovia (Kultur #1290) and Peerce, Anderson & Segovia (Kultur #1103). The latter video shows an even "younger" Segovia - in his 40s, 50s?!?).
hope you find it! :D

Good luck finding the "Song of the Guitar." I've been trying for a couple of years, but it's long out of print, and the used ones I've seen are surrealistically expensive. I have the "Los Olivos" video, and it's very good: inherently interesting, of course, but also good cinematography and sound, well worth it (I bought it from a fellow forumite on e-borneo, but I think it's still in print). The "Legacy/Tribute" video is also very good, more of a profile and examination of Segovia's impact. I've never seen the Fisk video. Check out the Segovia "Masterclass" video series; they're a bit costly (around $30 U.S. for approximately 30 minutes), but they're very, very interesting: just watching some other player sitting in front of the Old Man is a bit nervewracking; I can't imagine being one of those players! I own several of these, and they bear repeated watching.
I'd love to know if you locate a copy of "Song" for anything approaching a reasonable price.
