Hi everyone.

Was floating through GSI's pages and stumbled across a guitar made a by a luthier by the name of John Weissenrieder.

http://www.guitarsalon.com/store.php?it=GUCLWEI-02672

Its rosette is like nothing I've ever seen, a very pretty design. Its model name is 'Garcia' - I don't know much about toher guitars.. Is/Was Garcia a famous luthier?

Would be interested if anyone has played this instrument - it is cheap for a handcrafted concert guitar, on special aswell. Only $5000. How does this instrument sound?

any information would be nice. I'm very curious.

Weissenreider is an American builder living in Florence, Italy. He learned the craft with Andrea Tacchi who builds there, as well. He recently established his own shop and is dedicated to guitars inspired by great makers.

Garcia was one of the great makers of the 20th century. Tarrega played a Garcia as well as a Torres. One of the most famous pictures of Tarrega (smoking a cigar) was with his Garcia. Garcia also taught Simplicio who greatly influenced Fleta, etc. Not bad.

We love this particular guitar because it is a pretty faithful copy of the original, has lovely, old world sound and is priced very reasonably. Everything is well done on this guitar from finish to choice of materials to overall workmanship. We price it at $5000 to help introduce him to the market. I believe this is our fourth guitar of this maker and we intend to help him succeed.

Feel free to email or call us with any further questions.

I recently bought a used Weissenrieder Simplicio's replica. I believe the fan struts and general construction is very similar to the Garcia's (Simplicio worked with Garcia and developed his work during and after his master death).

The guitar sounds beautifully. I recorded two short videos and uploaded in youtube (I am not a professional player, but you will be able to appreciate its sound).
