I am a subscriber to Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Most issues do not have much for classical or flamenco guitarists, but the latest one (January) is a winner.

An interview with guitarist David Russell, including his transcription of a Bach Prelude, feature stories on Spanish Lutherie, London's classical scene, technical advice on tackling tremolo, by Patrick Francis, (a member of the San Francisco Guitar Quartet) including exercises and some background on Tarrega's Recuerdos de la Alhambra. Also, some good advice on nail shape for classical playing.

The transcription alone is probably worth the price of the magazine.

Check it out. www.acousticguitar.com

dude: cool referral. 8) they actually have a forum with a trading post so i posted the ramirez flamenco and ramirez classical guitar (both estudios) that i have been trying to sell (check out those shameless plugs of old--a couple of which i have been cyber busted  : ) and posted them there. yikes, is this another shameless plug? gee what i will do to get a big dog conde rather than the puppy conde i have now--which is actually pretty nice.

Good luck, Keith. You had better work fast. At the rate that the dollar is going with the euro, I would imagine that Conde prices will continue to rise.

Nice plug .......

fortunately the two i have my eyes on are in the u.s. at g.s.i. at that!! i just hate buying before selling--otherwise my apartment will begin to look like guitarcenter.
here is a major bummer  last week someone e-mailed me (saw my ad at the stringsbymail website) inquiring about the ramirez fl-2 i have up for sale. everytime i try to reply i get an error message. fortunately i know a software pro who is trying to route it.

hey, i am beginning to see a lot of galli postings here and elsewhere. how goes them with you? i eagerly await the flamenco tension strings. every now and then i use other strings to remind me how great galli strings are. i am using a set now on my classical and although they are good, they really do suck compared to galli.

Not going to start a new thread for this as there does not seem to be much interest.

The current issue of Fingerstyle Guitar magazine (#51 Oct./Nov.) has a real nice arrangement of Lennon and McCartney's "In My Life". It is arranged by fingerstyle guitarist, Laurence Juber. He is a well known recording artist who formerly worked with Paul McCartney and Wings. The accompanying CD has a track of Juber playing the arrangement on a steel string guitar, but it sounds very good on nylon strings. It is a relatively easy but effective solo arrangement of this beautiful song. A lot of other fingerstyle arrangements in this issue, "In My Life" is just my favorite. In both notation and tab.

No, I do not have any personal interest in these magazines.

Negative, but I do have experience in these matters? Have you seen if anyone else is able to contact the person's account via email? Either that or try an alternative computer (on a different network) using your same account. Let me know if this helps.

Can anyone still get a copy of the Jan AGW? I unfortunately got this info too late and am now not able to find a copy. I will reimburse if someone can still find it.
