A few years ago, I bought a 1977 Rameriz 1a. I was told by my guitar instructor that the case was not a Rameriz. The case looks too shallow, only 5.25", and one of the latches is broken.

I want to buy a new case and see that Guitar Salon has a SKB Hardshell case (Rameriz) and a Rameriz Concert Case. Which would be the better case? Or is there something better out there?

I personally prefer the Humicase.

I've seen a variety of cases from real cheapies to megabuck Carltons, etc. The all round best for value, protection, & weight I've found are Hiscox cases made in England. They're incredibly light, very sturdy, pretty waterproof and not flashy. I've now got 4 Hiscox cases in a variety of sizes and have never had a single problem. They claim you can stand on them but I've not tried, at least not with my Ramirez inside. They've also won lots of recommendations in UK guitar magazines. New cases cost £85 in the UK.

The professional cases are more deluxe with better quality lining and more protection. The Pro-Large classical model fits a 664mm scale length Ramirez perfectly. If your guitar is 650mm then I'd go for the medium version.
