Here are some MP3's of my playing:

http://www.lifemusicart.com/Music/Footsteps2003.htm

None of the recordings are perfect, but they are for the most part listenable. I saved the MP3's at the lowest quality to conserve space, so thay are not as clear sounding as the CD's.

They all contain some reverb and they sound different from one sound system to another. I have learned that mixing is as much of an art as is playing and I am still on the learning curve as far as mixing is concerned.

Nice work. I listened to only a few tracks but I can tell you have put a lot of effort into this. I like the fact that you listed the guitars for each track. Well done.

I am going to go back and listen to all the tracks.

The 2nd Lagrima  never heard that digital effect on ANY nylon guitar, let alone classical. Good on ya for experimenting! 8)

very nice work mstephenson and thank you for posting your work. It is nice to hear what other classical guitarists are doing because, honestly, i dont know any other than myself. (Colorado is in the middle of a never ending culture famine)

Great job, I have found recording, err uhh trying to record, and playing, a great challenge.
And still have a ways to go, as well as my playing ..sigh.
Anyway, I liked the sound of your Sinsonido and ordered one based on what I could hear of it on your tunes…
Should be here today, Woohoo
Any string flavors you like on that guitar?

Happy holidays all.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I thought that this post was gone until I saw it in the "Recent Discussions". I guess I missed that it was moved to the "Players and Personalities" section of the forum.

About the Sinsonido - I really like the guitar but the string think is an issue. The guitar is designed for ball-end strings and the string of choice for all of my classicals is HenSe Carbons. I tried some ball ends that I ordered from StringsByMail, but I did not like them. i tried to reuse the ball ends from the OEM set, but the thinner carbon trebles tore thru them.

I am currently using a dowel in which I have drilledholes as a tie-off block. I have heard of others using glass beads to tie off the strings and I think that is probably the best solution.

Strings aside, I really like the way the guitar sounds as well. My first recording thru the Sounblaster soundcard that came with my computer did not sound so good (especially the overtones), but when I switched to the M-Audio Mobile-Pre (A USB preamp) things started sounding a lot better.

Please let us know what you think of the Sinsonido.

For those that want to hear what other CG'ists are doing, here is a great place to download home-recorded MP3's:

http://www.e-borneo.com/cgi-bin/cgf/upload2.cgi?type=newfiles (I have over 300 megs of downloads from there)

(The forum itself is: http://www.e-borneo.com/ab/cgforum.html . Although there are many knowledgeable people that post there, they are a tempermental bunch and they can get pretty snippy. I find this forum to be much, much friendlier - to bad there is not an upload section here!!)

Just a quick reply to THADDEUSB. I live right down here in Loveland. So now you've doubled the people you know who play classical guitar in CO. You need to go to www.coloradoguitar.com. We meet once a month, just to play and BS.
