Does anybody on this forum know anything about an east german luthier named Dietrich (frank-peter or markus). I am planning to make a trip to him but wanted to know if someone had more info about his guitars.

By the way; if anyone has a tip for a concert model about 3500 euro, post them here please. I am looking for a western european sound, for instance no ramirez (too Spanish) but more like a Hauser or a Humphry. I know those are way more expensive but its just as an example.

My guitar is from German luthier Otto Rauch and was priced at 3500 Euros. It is a Hauser style model with Indian rosewood sides and back, a spruce top and Rodgers tuners. It possesses a refined yet very loud, direct and "compact" sound with great possibilities of modulation. I know some other people who own instruments from this luthier made in the same style and they are all very satisfied with their guitars. And every time I have performed on stage some people ask me where I bought this instrument.

I suggest you check with Eddie Blochinger in Munich. He has a line of great new instruments called Loriente which you should see. Based on my experience, they are the best value for the money in this range. Price of top model is about 4000 Euros. His contact phone is 49 8081 8768.
