I found two books of Gerardo Nunez transcriptions under the tree. His stuff is amazing. Technically demanding. I have some hard work ahead. Also received three Tomatito CD's.

A Conde A-26 was not under the tree. Maybe next year .....

oops, started a thread and did not list what i got from santa. well nick, a conde a26 did show up under my tree--although it was not purely santa, santa did helped on a couple of fronts. buyers got the message from santa to buy those guitars i had for sale thus, i was able to raise the funds. so i guess, in a weird way, santa helped by bringing buyers down my chimney.

and i got 2 tickets to see paco on valentine's day (playing here in boston). in this case, santa was my girlfriend so i guess she wins too.

Didn't get anything directly related, but I did get an iPod so I will be able to take all my tunes with me. Been adding CDs since yesterday morning - first I did was the Segovia box set.

I got a really early Christmas present of a Hauser III about 6 or 7 weeks ago. And a wife that understands GAS about 13 years ago....

I got a couple of books in the Guitar Grimoire series. The one on scales and modes, and the one on chords and voicings. They're pretty informative. Also got a two-CD set of Segovia recordings, and a recording of all of the Villa-Lobos solo works for guitar. This last is particularly helpful since I just started learning the Prelude No. 1 by Villa-Lobos. :-)

Oh, and I got a hard-shell case for my Yamaha so I can take it on trips instead of my Ramirez. I prefer playing the Ramirez, of course. But I don't want to take it on a plane if I don't have to. :-)

Sharon,
Did you get the naxos Complete Solo Works of Villa-Lobos w/ Norbert Kraft? He's an exceptional player (imho of course!)

Choros No. 1 has to be on my top 20.

Enjoy

Scott,

Yes. That's the one. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I like the Choros, too, but I don't have a favorite, other than the Prelude #1 which I'm just starting to work on. :-)
