Anyone have a product recommendation for a balm/salve to use on my hands for cold winter mornings? Ideally I'm looking for something (in order of priority) hot enough to get the blood running in my hands, non-greasy, and odorless. (I've already tried hot water)

cold winter mornings in oakland ca.??? dude, most of us living in god forsaken locales such as the northeast would love our winter mornings to be like those in oakland. but, here are some tips:

1. supplement. a few years ago there was a viagra alternative for women on the market --basically it was a mixture of arginine (amino acid), vitamin e and a few herbs--one being hornygoatweed (i am not sure if the hornygoatweed did anything but the name is rather memorable). research found that it did not really do anything viagra related wise, but it did make the hands and feet warmer (aids in the flow of blood). you can do the less costly route--take 1 capsule of arginine and 1 capsule of vitamin e every day. this mixture has been known for many years and i take them and it really does work.

2. topical. well there is the obvious--ben gay but you will suffer from the fumes. one thing that may help--hot sauce. the capasin (what makes it hot) helps to warm the hand. i have heard of people doing this and they swear by it.

3. technological. you can buy these hand warmers that hunters use. or you can do what the rest of the us in areas where snow shovels are commonplace--but a little space heater (but unplug it when not in use).

4. fashion. buy some gloves.

5. move to southern california??

well jonny, actually it was viagra--or at least a "natural" version for women. why they would put horny goat weed in it i do not know--or maybe it was weed that made goats horny? :P

It would be too easy to make a joke about why people from Mass. would want horny goats so I digress to make further comments.

I have not laughed like this for a long time.

I am so easily amused.

of course jonny, suggestion number 2 was to use hot sauce to warm the hands--i guess the end result would be hot hands. so, mr. hotnuts, i wonder...................

You guys are TOO much. Thanks for the chuckle.

John, I use this little therapeutic pillow thingy that you heat up in the microwave. I heat it up for 1 minute 45 seconds, then sit with it wrapped around my hands for about five minutes. It works great.
