a while back i found this great website for flamenco stuff (c.d.'s, books, etc. etc.)--the site is: www.flamencoconnection.com
i found this when i was looking to find a mundo beat (see below after my digression)
i ordered some things and along with the merchandise i received a 80+page catalogue stocked filled with c.d.'s d.v.d's, etc. this, by far, is the most extensive flamenco stuff i have seen. i could go broke and then some shopping at this place. it is awesome!! they have everything you could ever imagine. now to the mundo beat.
a mundo beat is a metronome that is not really a traditional metronome--it provides pre-programmed flamenco and other "world" beats (50 total). for example, it has several bulerias beats with accents, etc. there is even 2 siguriyas compas' (which is, functionally, alternating 3/4 and 6/8 time). the machine can be programmed with your individual compas.
for $100 it is pricey, but no other metronome that i could find will give you a bulerias compas, start on the 12th beat, and accent the beats in a 12 beat measure. for classical folks, it is probably not the metronome to use, but if you are going to play flamenco, this will help keep in compas--it made me aware that a couple of pieces i play were slightly out of compas. this will probably save me getting whacked with the heel of a gallardos (brand of flamenco dancing shoe) for ending a bulerias on the 9th beat.
