Hi there, I am new to this forum, and relatively new to the Guitar (I have taken lessons for about 3 years and haven't played much since my 2 1/2 year old son was born). I am picking up my guitar again and plan to spend quality time with it. It is a Ramirez 4E, and very nice to look at, so I want to hang it on the wall where I will have direct access to it (and my kids won't!). I figure if it is out, I will play it more.

Can anyone, GSI included, recommend a tasteful way to hang this and show it off for the piece of art that it is?

I have just purchased a set of Galli strings as a result of lurking on this board, so I will add my two cents when they come.

Thanks for the help,

jsilva

Can't help you on the display side of things.

But I own the same guitar as you. Let me tell you about the Gallis...

It took about a week for the trebles to settle in, and unfortunately the basses never really did :( they were dead and unworthy.

I found an unbeatable combination for this instsrument:

Galli trebles, Hannabach 728 basses.

Good luck with the display issue.

Thanks for the tip. I will keep my ear on the basses. I do have some Savarez Alliance and Augustine Red spares, so I can play around a little for a good sound.

Keeping in it's case is really the best thing, but hey if seeing it makes you want to play it more that's a good thing. How about a locking glass display case like people display their good china in or something. You could even control the enviroment in it .Good luck.

i hang my two guitars and a violin on "String Swing" wall hangers...they cost only $10.00 and look nice. they have a wood base and metal base version. i use the wooden base since it looks more "artistic" to me.
