View Full Version : VIGIL FOR SPAIN

I was wondering what people think of this idea. As flamenco and classical guitarists we are in some way connected to Spain. As a way to express our sorrow for the 3-11 bombing tragedy, and to honor the people of Spain and all she has given us, I thought that we all could play a piece that is typically Spanish. This would be out collective candlelight vigil. For classical guitarists, maybe a piece that expresses sorrow. For us flamencos, a siquiriyas may be appropriate.

If people like this idea, I think 11 p.m. Eastern Standard Time would allow those on the west coast as well as those in Australia (this would be 3 p.m.)and that region to participate. If we did this tomorrow, Sat. March 13 (Sunday March 14 for those on the other side of the world) this would occur just prior to the sunrise Sunday in Madrid.

What do folks think about this?

Great idea, i'm in...i don't know any spanish songs but i can play Amazing Grace as a tribute to the people of Spain from the people of Hawaii...i think we are 5 hours behind the east coast so this would be 6 PM here.
I would like to express my sympathies to the people of Spain and give them my full Aloha

hey adrian: thinking about an appropriate piece, lagrima (spanish for tears) came to mind.
