I saved this turtle awhile ago that wasn't being taken care of properly(it's aquatic and they treated it like a tortoise, no water.) Anyway I was told to buy this stuff you rub on its shell to restore it,(it was badly damaged) and it was kind of like watching time going backwards! In under 2 months its shell was almost like it was never damaged, so I thought " What the heck is in this STUFF!!!" just then I was reminded that turtle shells and finger nails aren't so different , and started applying to my nails. Sure-a-nuff, the stuff made my nails even stronger than that hard as hoof cream, and it's half the price, plus I saw results faster. So if you're ever in a pet store, buy some and give it a try. Its called turtle vitashell. Although, it has some side effects. Since I've been using it I notice people staring at the 5 small turtles growing on my finger tips.

I have been told that you can significantly reduce this side effect by applying a thick coat of Turtle Wax :)

Hmmmm..., Well if that doesn't work at least they'll be nice and shiny.

Great tip, Faya. Thanks

for a minute there i thought one had to make turtle soup or even worse, use a part of the turtle as a daily supplement to get the effect. can the shells of dead turtles be used for guitar related stuff? a nut? a saddle? tuner buttons? now, what am i going to do with that gallon jug of hoof cream? wax my car?

No problem, NGiorgio.

Keith, I think they used to make picks, and pickgaurds out of the shells at one time. You could try useing the hoof cream & turtle shell stuff in combo. It might even work better?

Henry, I'd like to hear that that one.
