I've just fitted a set of EJ45C lightly polished strings to my Ramirez. I've been using Savarez Corums for the past year and fancied a change (I find the trebles are a little bright at times).

Has anybody else tried these strings and if so....

1) Did you find them hard to tie at the bridge end? I've never had this problem before but the A,D & G strings were really difficult to tie neatly as they are so stiff; particularly that fancy composite G.

2) The bottom E doesn't seem to be polished like the A & D. Is this usual?

3) How do people find the composite G compared to the nylon one also provided?

4) Do people have any other strings they'd recommend?

I'm going to let the strings settle overnight and will let people know how they suit my guitar over the next few days.

Regards

Nick

I use these string all the time now and they do last much longer than any other I have tried.

1. I hate stringing a classical but I can't say that these particular strings were harder to tie. That said, I have never used/tied Savarez Corums.

2. Not really... It may appear "rougher" than the A but then the A feels rougher than the D.

3. Used it twice and did not like it. I found that it would produce an annoying squeak when striking the string with too much flesh. This does not seem to occur when sliding a (caloused) left hand finger over the string. Of course if you have good RH technique this might not be a problem.

Thanks for the reply.

When I said the E string didn't appear polished I meant that the A & D string have an obvious spiral pattern along their length where they have been polished slighyl flat . this isn't present on the bottom E.

And I know what you mean about changing classical strings. it takes so much longer than on a steel string guitar and the treble strings seem to take an age to settle.
