I don't find it easy to locate a specific item (such as a CD or a piece of sheet music) the way the pages are arranged.
I think that a list of titles, that are searchable, would be more user friendly, than seeing just a handful of items per page, and then guessing whether I should click on page 16, 17, 18, or other, to find something. Maybe I'm not doing it right. Once I found what I was looking for, then I could click on the title and see a facsimile of the front cover - rather than seeing all those graphics to start with, which prevent me from seeing enough data.
Every time I click on Sheet Music, I see a handful of covers of music by Aguado. Not very useful. Where can I simply type, for example, "Villa-Lobos", and see what is available by that composer?
Web surfers have short attention spans. My suggestion is to make buying from your store easier.

Thanks for the helpful comments, Libre. We're in the process of redesigning and improving our web store, and creating a more user-friendly shopping experience is a top priority.

Just an FYI: the "List All:" drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the screen was intended to give visitors of a simple list of items, sortable by title, composer, author, price, etc. Also, your web browser should allow you to search this list.

Adrian: Why can't we simply select whatever sheet music we want to buy, type in a credit card number, and download a printable copy from one of GSI's servers right away? Most software is sold that way these days, so why not sheet music?

ehoude,

That's an excellent idea, and that seems to be the direction of things to come. I'm reminded of our wildly popular Sheet Music CDs we've been carrying for a while:

 CD Sheet Music Vol.2 (http://www.guitarsalon.com/store.php?it=SMCLAGU-03219)

However, at the moment, there are several obstacles to this shift.

First, I'm sure you can understand the reluctance of publishers to switch their business model from print-based to an entirely different medium like electronic files, which can be duplicated and easily distributed among non-paying users online This has been a problem for recording labels.

Also, securing these types of documents so that they cannot be copied is not only unreliable, but it restricts the user's rights to use it as they see fit.

And last, it's probably only a matter of time before your idea goes into full effect in the years to come.

Cheers,
Adrian
