2004-2005</font>

October 16
Ana Vidovic [Croatia]

Barely twenty years of age, Ana Vidovic has already won several international competitions and toured in some twenty countries. Guitar Review magazine recently wrote that "It is difficult where to begin when discussing the enormous talents of Ana Vidovic. Her dynamic range, beauty of sound, precision of articulation and virtuosity are such that listening becomes more of an absolute musical experience."

November 13
Elgart-Yates Duo [USA]

Matthew Elgart and Peter Yates formed the Elgart/Yates Guitar Duo in 1975 and have since given annual performances of music for two guitars in such diverse environments as the recital halls of Paris and Rome and the jazz clubs of Salzburg and Brussels. Soundboard was unequivocal in its praise when it asserted "Let me state it flatly. They're as good at what they do as anyone in the world today, and I'd drive a hundred miles to hear them anytime."

February 19
Pavel Steidl [Czech Republic]

Hailed by Classical Guitar as "a player who lights up every recital he gives with the floodlight of his musicianship," Pavel Steidl makes his first visit to Southern California. Since winning first prize in the prestigious Radio France competition, he has become one of the most celebrated soloists of his generation with performances in over thirty countries.

March 19
Trio Con Brio [Germany]

The mixed ensemble of Trio Con Brio - Carsten Hustedt (flute), Carolin Kriegbaum (viola) and Andrea Förderreuther (guitar) make their much anticipated and welcome return to the AGS series. As the Mannheimer Morgen remarked, ..."in full compliance with the name, musical sparks fly immediately from the onset of the music."

April 23
John Schneider [USA]

Internationally recognized guitarist, composer, author, broadcaster and the foremost exponent of the microtonal guitar, John Schneider will present a unique program entitled Three American Mavericks, featuring works of Lou Harrison, Harry Partch and Terry Riley. The Los Angeles Reader describes his performances as "truly magical...the superb musicianship should remain enchanting long after neophytes' ears have adjusted to the new tonality."
