Great student guitar. They have strong trebles all the way up the neck, unusual in a student guitar...
I have a gr07 I use as my beater guitar. It's not a bad guitar for the price. The highs are nice but no sustain on the higher frets. I tweaked mine after a few months of playing it. The top is not tuned (not that I expect that at this price level) so I did some of that myself as well as thinning the soundboard a bit here and there. Gave it a bit more of a balanced sound and more volume. Overall I'd recommend it even without the additional work. Putting a better quality bridge bone will make it sound nicer.
I would say save your cash b/c for about $400 more you can get a much nicer sounding instrument. Ramirez, Loriente, and some of the newer Cervantes guitars.

If that's the model at about $600 - $700, I almost bought one, but at the last minute decided that a Cordoba 50R sounded better. FWIW.

I have a GR09, which I got a few years ago before I started spending serious money on guitars. Gotta say, given a lot of crap out there, it's a nice instrument and a good student guitar. Esteve is a good choice.

I have a 1gr08. Got it at Guitar Center on a clearance sale for $780. I love the guitar. Better slightly than the Cordoba 50r. For a beginner I'd get a 50r first. I've got one and it's great.
Check out some reviews.
