In a continuing effort to find innovative uses for the plants we have in such abundance, we are pleased to announce the all-kudzu guitar! We have used the stem of this exotic plant to create a compound-wood with excellent sonoric qualites and have been able to create wonderfullly-responsive strings from the root systems. The only exception to the all-kudzu constrruction is in the rosette, which features inlay of dried Japaese honeysuckle.
Don't hesitate to check this out...good for today only, April 1st!!!!

ok, here's the "southern thang"
kudzu and japanese honeysuckle are the bane of our existence around here...it's said you can hear the kudzu growing at night and if you fall asleep anywhere near it it will have grown up all over you by morning. the japanese honeysuckle is just about as bad....at least it smells good.
I have some papers from an elderly relative's house. he was farming during the 30s and 40s when kudzu was being sold as the answer to erosion, a great cover crop and cattle feed...it turned out that it liked our climate so much that it turned into the plague it is today These papers were from the USDA back in the 30s explaining how to carefully cultivate the stuff. I showed it to friends at work - the yankees among us didn't understand - the southerners all laughed till we choked.

I like it!! Add some chinese privet and wisteria inlays, and you've got one hell of a southern guitar. :D

actually, I have bad news: when we went to the workshop this morning, it had disappeared under the assault of the privets and the wisteria. (It IS Spring) We can't find it, but it smells really good.
As soon as the machetes arrive, we will resume production.
ok, back to serious stuff, kids!
