Benito Huipe: Does anyone know where is he now?

Last time I heard from Benito Huipe was 5 years ago. I heard he moved to Mexico to retire there. However, I see guitars coming from Mexico with his label and a very low price. What is happening? This man was considered at one time the best flamenco guitar maker of the USA.

I am the proud owner of a Benito Huipe negra with "L.A., CA 9/3/1990" handwritten below his signature. It is an awesome guitar, spruce top with beautiful cocobolo back/sides. I bought it used for $600 in 1993 (I think) from some eccentric occultist who said he had it custom built to a 666 scale (instead of 664) for $1100.

Because of carpal tunnel, I decided to scale down to a 650 Philip Woodfield that I bought at GSI, but the Huipe is still a remarkable guitar that I can't bring myself to part with.

Last thing I heard about Maestro Huipe was that He was giving a class in Paracho about Flamenco guitars construction just las month of March...(periódico Cambio de Michoacán):
"El programa del festival contará como su principal atractivo con el taller de construcción de guitarra flamenca, impartido en la Casa de la Cultura por el maestro Benito Huipe del 7 al 19 de marzo de 10:00 a 19:00 horas. El festival contará con la exposición y venta de guitarras en la sala de laudería del 21 al 24 de marzo de 10:00 a 19:00 horas, así como dos conferencias sobre guitarra flamenca y construcción de guitarra, impartidas por Daniel Guzmán y Benito Huipe en la sala Valerio del citado recinto cultural; además, habrá cinco recitales -con las mismas guitarras construidas en el taller- en el auditorio del Centro de Investigación de la Guitarra (Cideg) del 21 al 24 de marzo, que se llevarán a cabo a las 19:00 horas.
