I haven't used one of these since my mother made me practice the piano when I was a kid. I have some bad memories of those things.

Nevertheless, I am looking to buy one. I have noticed they range in price from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars.

Does anyone have any metronome suggestions? What to buy? What to look for? Electronic? Wind up? Etc.

I don't even remember how to use one......I think I blocked it out........

I can understand your feelings about using a metronome, but I have recently begun using one everytime I practice, and it has really enhanced the consistency of my playing. I suggest you stay away from digital metronomes. The digital clicking sounded to obtrusive for me, and one of my favorite practice breaks became throwing the d$%m thing across the room. For my birthday, my wife bought me a Wittner taktell Super-Mini metronome, and I love it. It is a wind up metronome with a small pendulum that has a very natural and soothing sound (compared to the digital POS that I have since thrown away). Anyway, try a few different ones out, and see what you like.

You can bet that any great guitarist you can name,
has a metronome in their case.

Its essential as far as i'm concerned.

I agree, i like the wind up pendulums.

They're cheap, they sound natural, and you never
need to buy any batteries. 8)
