I just wanted to say "Hi" as I have been reading the GSI Guitar Forum for a few weeks now and have decided to "jump in" now.

I studied classical guitar in So. Calif. in 1990 for less than a year and have decided to begin again, and I do mean begin. I have recently purchased a couple of Scott Tennant's DVD's. I really enjoyed them and have already learned so many great things about this great instrument.

Over the last few weeks I have learned a lot from you all and hope I can in some small way contribute when I can.

Anyway, glad to be here.

Welcome to the forum :D I am also a bit of a begginner to classical guitar (10 years steel string and 14 months classical). Be careful :) the classical guitar and this forum can be habit forming  . Check the Surgeon General's warning on your guitar case before proceding. :P WELCOME!!!

I don't have a map in front of me, but I think so. I was on a motorcycle trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway last year and spent one night in Roanoke. Nice town!

We are west of D.C. about 45 minutes.

Jubilee,

Thanks for the welcome! I did buy a Rodriguez B model classical guitar almost two weeks ago. It has a solid cedar top and laminated rosewood back and sides. It is the first Spanish classical I have owned and I love it!

Hi, welcome aboard. I hope to get up to VA sometime soon. I have never been but my family settled there in the Colonial period, mostly in a Manakin. they were Huguenots, and I have been studying both the general and personal history of that sect and the area for some time now.
Don't you love this instrument?!
