It's here!!!!
My new Jose Rodriguez arrived today. The guitar is practically weightless, absolutely alive, and crackles with energy. I rank it up there with my best blanca and it hasn't opened up yet! The marginal benfit greatly exceed the cost here.

Hi Ykabban,
I'm not familiar with Jose Rodriguez. If you've posted earlier about your planning to get one of his guitars, then I must've missed them. Your Jose Rodriguez looks very nice. Can tell me why you got a Jose Rodriguez as opposed to another maker? I've seen some of his guitars on Ebay. Is this where you got yours? Also, how does it compare with other guitars that you've played?

I didn't buy it on e-bay, but I did buy it from Jose Conde who sells them on ebay, his son is javier conde(look him up, he's a genius). I have played his guitars before so I had Rodriguez make this one for me. The sound is unique and difficult to describe but it's fast, woody, hollow, very flamenco etc. Actually, it sounds exactly like the 1951 Marcelo Barbero in the GSI multimedia archive. I hope I don't get in trouble for saying that :roll: .

Everyone seems to be overlooking the best feature...the rosette!!! Nothing beats a gorgeous rosette. Enjoy it, it's a beauty - like NG said.

Yes, NGiorgio, it is french polished. Good eye, by the way, the plantilla is a bit wider in the waist than most.

I had seen a few of these guitars on ebay a while back. The details seem to be very meticulous. How did you find this luthier? Is Jose Conde his agent?
