View Full Version : Hello folks, new here.
Hey folks,
Found this forum by accident. I'm on the classicalguitar.nl forums, but these seem more active. Anyhow, it's good to be on more guitar forums.
A little about me: i'm an amateur guitar player, and have been playing for 13 years on and off. I can play pretty decently, but would like to improve my technique, musicality, accuracy, confidence. The hardest piece that I can muster through is the Bach Prelude from Lute Suite no. 4, although it's a monster for me to work through and I end up feeling like I ran the marathon once i'm done with it.
Well, look forward to contributing to this board.

Hey, wassup? Had hahd time tryin' fo unda-stand yo' pidgin. You haole, yeah? Maybe das why. Wea you stay now? Hawaii o' in Arizona?
Yeah, i'm from Oahu; been to Parker Ranch many times to play paintball. Now I live in the Bay Area, CA. Would love to move back someday.
Hawaii used to have this great guitar festival back in the day. It was much better than the full classical guitar festival concerts, because it had an eclectic mix of styles, musicians, and events: everything from Charlie Byrd, to L.A.G.Q., to slack key guitar masters. I don't know what happened to it. I don't even know what happened to UH Manoa's Lisa Smith, head of the guitar dept. My old guitar teacher, Peter Frary, is now in charge of it.

Good Lord...could everyone here speak English please!!! :?
Seriously, okay, Jubi, no offense, but what the hell are you trying to say? Your pidgin is, like, seriously off. Are you a haole? Or a local that grew up in the islands and left? I got the gist of what you were trying to say, and maybe you really can speak pidgin like the locals, but you're writing it out phonetically all wrong. For example, no one in Hawaii says one keiki as, "un' keiki". You're using 'n' when there should be an 'm' too, e.g. "tine" instead of "time".
Anyways, could you repeat what you said again in English? Sorry, brah, just had the hahdest time tryin' fo understand.
