Hello All,
I just bought an incredible instrument from Guitar Salon. A 1998 Stenzel. I just have too many GREAT things to say about this guitar, and even MORE GREAT things to say about David Collett. This man is a representation of his company, and if so I will say this about Guitar Salon. Guitar Salon is a company that is trustworthy, considerate, patient, knowledgeable, and just a complete pleasure to work with. I spent, for me, a very considerable amount of money. This is just not an instrument for me but a life long commitment.
This is along the lines of a marriage for me. I tell you this so you may know how important this whole thing was and is for me. A HUGE COMMITMENT! I will tell all of you that are considering buying an instrument from Guitar Salon to do so with complete confidence. Absolutely no worries that you are going to get the finest service and finest instruments from this company. A completely refreshing experience in a world filled with mediocrity. I can't tell you how happy I am with all the special and extra work that David Collett did for me. And I bet that he feels that he did nothing more than his job :). So if you have any doubts, let them all go and put your faith in Guitar Salon. You will get the best service and best instrument if you research and ask questions.

So With Special Effect and Thanks to David Collett, Enrique Guerrero La Farge

p.s. Just a short word on Sebastian Stenzel guitars. This guitar makes me want to be a better human :)

I decided to be serious about playing guitar in 1997, when I heard a Sebastian Stenzel for the first time, my then teacher Katie, had purchased it from GSI, and Dave Collect sold it. That little guitar sounded wonderful in the small hands of Katie. The rest is history. You got yourself a nice instrument. Probably from the top maker GSI represents, IMHO.

Scouring S. Stenzel's website and reading the articles he has written (hope they are still available on the new GSI website), it seems clear to me that he has put a phenomenal amount of time and energy into finding out how to make guitars as good as they can be, in every respect.
I've never held one of his instruments, but I have no doubt that they are something special.

Dominic

P.S. This Collett guy seems to be pretty damn good, too!

I have a 2006 Stenzel--the clarity, ease of playing, and workmanship (aside from an extremely delicate French polish) are amazing. Perhaps due to the slightly smaller body size, it lacks some sustain/resonance, but I guess ya' can't have it all! He has indeed researched/investigated the latest methods and produces world class instruments.

LOL, Pepe, did you notice you were replying to a thread that was nearly two years old?

But I will agree with Enrique's sentiments about GSI. They are wonderful to deal with. :)

No, I did not notice. Plus, this new forum is weird, I get lost a lot, I do not get used to it yet. Before, you could not respond to a testimonial. Now, we can?

Enrique, congrats on your new instrument. I agree, GSI appears to work very hard on getting their customers the right guitar. Their knowledge is unprecedented and yet they genuinely care about what they're doing. Enjoy your guitar. I can't put mine down.
