I have a question for you about your playing of Blind Mary. Do you capo at the first fret? I loved the piece by the way, and ordered the book you said you got the piece from. When I started to play it, I did NOT like the sound as much as on your video. I'm no Mozart, but it didn't take me long to realize I was in a different key than you, although I was playing straight from the book - which does not indicate a capo. When I put the capo on fret 1 - BINGO! I like sound better, and the register better also. I'm really surprised that the capo would have that effect.
Anyway - I don't remember your mentioning anything about the capo. Do you just tune a half step higher than standard, for some reason, or are you using the capo?

You caught me... I used a capo on the 1st as you suspected. In fact, when I was learning it and playing along with Ben V. I would change the pitch of his recording to match my capoed version.
I first heard this piece played by a member on e-borneo (sorry, but I cant remember his name) who played it on a 10 string. He capoed on the 3rd.
BTW: I would really, really love to hear you rendition.

ahCHA!
Thought so.
I'll make a recording this weekend and post it - risking being pounced upon by all the critics here - but since you asked I'll do it.
The piece is a great example that something beautiful can be quite simple.
By the way, do you have the CD that is referred to in the book? Had I known it was available with the CD, I would have ordered it to - but I didn't ... so I didn't.

Yup. I got the book with the CD. He has some nice stuff on there most of which will probably be pretty simple for you. While a few may be easy for me as well, it is playing to tempo that kills me. (i.e. Planxty Drew,Capriccio)

Couldn't wait for the weekend.
This was done with my John Price and one mike (and no capo).

That is a great book, I have been playing the Tibetan Prayer Song for a while, which is kind of a unique piece in that book. It was really put together well.

Nope - Not E minor. E Major yes, not E minor. It's hard to know what piece it is, just from the key - it could be literally hundreds. If you can tell me the work it's from - or even better, the BWV number, I might be able to help you.
Hmmmm- is it the Prelude from the 1st Lute Suite? That would qualify - but I don't know if it's the piece you mean. There is a really mean Presto that goes with it - you've probably heard it.
