Quick everyone help out!
What song is John Williams at the end of meeting with Greg Smallman in the film profile part of his Seville concert. There's a classical sounding piece he's playing just before he leaves Smallmans place.

Any ideas??

I think that's a Scarlatti sonata. I remember that piece too. He was blazing some scales with a half barre on 5th, right?

He does have a sonata in am from scarlatti a few minutes more into the piece, but it still might be a Scarlatti piece, just a different one.. It's in a major key, didn't sound like a lot of scales but more romantic than scarlatti. Too bad you can't skip to it on the vhs, even on my DVD (chinese) you can't skip chapters on the profile part, you have to fast forward.

Ok now i'm thinking it might even be a Giuliani piece. It has that sort of sound to it. Check it out if you have the video (seville concert)
Sounds like it could be a part of Variazioni sulla Follia di Spagna op.45

Anyone know if Williams ever played this piece?

Shoots, man, now you're really making me wonder if i'm thinking about the same piece. I'll go and put the VHS tonight and check it out again. I remember him playing a song with his guitar propped on his right leg, and Greg was sitting there in front, mesmerized by both the guitar and player, and he was playing a really cool song that sounded a lot like Scarlatti. This isn't the one you're talking about , right? Yeah, it sounded like it was in a major key too.

Yeah that sounds like your talking about the same piece now. You're looking at John's back and Greg's face. I'll loot at some Scarlatti pieces and see if I can find it. It was in D major, at least played in that key.

I've been figuring this piece out (the small portion that there is) but still have no idea who wrote it. It might be an early spanish composer (Arcas) or close. I won't give up on it. Everyone watch it!

for those who wanted to know, the piece is by Vivaldi
Op. 9 rv 230 . It's a violin Concerto in DM. It was transcribed to guitar, i've seen a few available copies out there. Great piece to try to learn.

Damn! SWEET! You've finally found it! How'd you discover it was Vivaldi? Let me know when you get the score. I'd love to buy it too.

I asked at the John Williams fansite. some guy named Tim knew it. THeres a tab of it at Classtab.org if you want to take a look at it. Its the 3rd movement allegro towards the bottom. I arranged it a little different towards the end to what Williams plays on the video. I'll tab it and send it to you if you want. IT's the real tricky sounding part, might be hard to figure out at first.
