Hi!
My name is Karlis, live in Latvia - small country near Baltic Sea.
I'v been playing guitar for several years. Started with electric (for about 5 years), but now Im playing only classical (2 years).
I found this site few days ago, and was inspired by some posted videos there, so I decided to record my self to compare how it will sound. Yesterday I did it :( It was somenthing terrible, so many buzz, squeeks and not clear tones.... I did not noticed them when I was playing, but recording shows all mistakes. So I revealed that I need to practise more, before putting some record in this forum for public judging.
Other thing that is interesting, I know only one other guy (my former teacher) that is involved in classical and flamenco guitar, but there are prety many like-minded fellows, so I found out that Im not alone with tis obsession : )

Hi! Thnkx for greetings!!!

My first classic guitar was without any mark on it, I guess it was some local music instrument factory work. As I now remember it was funny instrument, the 1st and 6t strings slipped off finger board if they were pressed incorrectly :D. 2nd CG was manufactured by Hohner, I guess it was produced in Germany (has very low sound volume). Now I'm playing Manuel Rodrigues model E. It sounds much better than previous ones. Few days ago I changed strings, I put Hannabach MT Carbon - sounds good.
About electric guitar I cant exactly remember for how long I hav played it, I guess some 5 - 7 years (practised some 3 hours a day). I stopped with it, because of permanent problems with other band members. They changed all the time, and its become very difficult to coordinate those creative minded guys. Besides every one wanted to play different style. Also I think I have become mentaly more dreamless or realistic, so the CG is the best way how to play music independently from other crew.

"Hofners" are from Germany; Hohner's are -I think_from Asia...I "had" a decent Hohner last year as my very first nylon bought to replace a "very, very, old & beat" one; But my "wife" smashed it one night(even my "wife" is unique & special)-I did manage to pass the tuners on to a friend though.... Jubi
ps I play "solo" electric!!!!
