NO... I'm a Chinese and I'm very sure LiJie is Chinese. There are few forum members from China can verify....wearing a Korean dress doesn't mean she is Korean.
Li Jie (Chinese name李洁)is from Beijing. She learns classical guitar from Professor Chen Zhi (陈志).

Ay ay ay.....
A mind is a terrible thing to waste...
Ah, okay, I stand corrected. I did bring up that video again, and it looks like those are Chinese characters in the 24th Caprice video. I could have sworn she was wearing a halm buk.

This was at a time when you were offering the set of 5 tapes by Li Jie. Someone put up a site that led to a video of her playing a Bach cello concerto #5 transcribed for guitar.I was unable to see it because I had a dialup connection that was too slow. Now I have broadband and would love to see it.

Does anyone know if the old video website that had all those great concert performances is available again?
I am talking about guitarists other than Li Jie
I believe it was a korean site(?)

am I the only one the thinks she doesn't have much more than simply technique?

I somewhat agree, this thread will be around by time she gets a good soul feel, so you're right for now

She's clean and can play just about anything. I'd say she has technique close to being mastered. Much more so than a lot of guitarists I've seen. She had it mastered when she was 14.

she can play the notes of everything.... I don't call that music.

Not that i dont enjoy watching her play, but i agree. Very clean, but
it doesnt exactly evoke much passion.
I admire anyone with that kind of work ethic though.
She's got the technique part wrapped up, thats for sure.
I think the rest just requires time. No substitute for life expierience.
