Faya I have heard them on Echoes before, I like their sound a lot, very nice layering, and very coherent. Usually when you have a trio playing, you get 'who has the biggest you know what' syndrome. Have you heard any of David Pritchard's music? He plays Classical & fingerstyle, one of his pieces is the last piece in the pumping nylon repetoire book. It is a beautiful piece. On his other pieces, he uses overlapping acoustic guitars. LAGQ covered his piece 'Stairs' on their new record Spin. I think you would like it.
Ok, here is a link to their Echoes living room concert. Took me a few to find it. Fan, I think you'll like it too,

Funny - A friend of mine had just recommended yesterday that I check out the California Guitar Trio. Maybe I'll go find something, and I'll post my review.

Faya -
you have some good taste in tunes, what else are you listening to these days? I have some Duquende, Tomatito, OL's Semana and the new Vicente Amigo in heavy rotation right now. I am burning a hole in the soleares on Vicente's new one, it is very very good. And when I need a break from nylon - I got plenty of Steve Earle!
Hey dennis,.........at the moment in the mix is......
OL "Opium",
Bjork "Hyper Balled re-mixes and Medulla",
Rodrigo "Gypsy Passions",
Hevia "Tierra de Nadie",
CGT "Rocks the West",
Control Denied "Fragile art of of Existence",
TransGlobal Underground "Rejoice Rejoice"
Radio Tarifa "Fiebre"
Chuscales "Midnight in Madrid"
Sibelius Violin con.
Brazilian Guitar Quartet "Essencia do Brasil"

Nice, I have a few of those too. I have not heard the new Chuscales yet, but I liked the one with Capricho Arabe on it, I don't know the name off the top of my head, but it was good stuff. I saw BGQuartet two years ago, they were excellent as well.
Cool !.................that Chuscales one is called.........."Encuentros del Alma"
another one of my favs........
Ya know there's even a song on there that Ottmar plays on....... 8)
