Finally, I went to Guitar Center and tried a Cordoba Pro-F. I almost buy it. It was in the $954. They could give a discount if I wanted. However, I had to stop. The guitar sounds wonderful like a real flamenco, and it is easy to play. Loud. Those rasgueados sound very loud and clear. The attendant told me that there was another guitar replacing this model. Is that the Solista? I would like to hear from you about this guitar.

I read the thread. Thanks G-string. I may have read it before and did not remember, that is the reason in the back of my head I had to go to GC. This Pro-F had a sound like it was finished with FPolish. It looked lacquered, but it sounded fenomenal. I am curious. If it was on sale at GC for $954, I could have gotten for a little bit less. The one at GSI is for $999 and has a fix on it, maybe one can get it with a better discount. Prior to this one, I liked the Cordoba 75-F. And of course, the Carmen. However, this one sounded better than the Carmen I played at GSI (NAMM) once. Faya, is your Solista better than the Pro-f? How do you like the weight?

Hola Don Pepe,
i think the solista may actually be better than the Pro-F..........it has a tone that reminds me of Condes.
The funny thing is that i think it's heavier then my 10fp negra....not so much in the body but in the neck??.......but it doesn't seem to take away from its sound what-so-ever :D .....it's perfectly fine by me. A Great Guitar in my opinion! Nice and Loud too.......

of course everything seems heavy compaired to my 57' Gonzalez blanca!.......that thing is light as a feather!!! i have yet to pick up a guitar even close to it in lightness.........No Kidding!!  :)

hope that helps.............

I am now curious about the Solista flamenca. If the Cordoba Pro-f sounded better than my Ramirez 2a-F. I think it is the spruce vs cedar thing. And you say the solista is much better. But definetly, I want to see the Solista. Let me know, Falla, when you come around these corners of the world.

Stopped by my local guitar shop and they happened to have both of them, Solista and Pro-F. The Solista seemed the lighter of the two but both projected the same volume, which was loud. Both have clear and brite trebles, the bass strings have seen better days so no comment on them, and the frets are fat, easy to pull off fast scales and smooth chord pregressions. My bulerias didn't sound too bad on it. My best flamenco guitar I have is an Antonio Aparicio aa142 and really I can't tell the difference, I probably can if I were to have them side by side. If I remember correctly the Solista was selling around $1300-1400 and Pro-F at $1000usd. A very good value and a helluva compas guitar.
