Never heard of him until the day of his death(Aug 3, 2006) at the age of 31!!!!!! Seems our world lost an upcoming talent but it scares me that a perfectly healthy looking man's heart would give out all of a sudden.

This is really sad news. I knew Aaron pretty well when he was still in high school and thinking about college. He had a wonderful attitude and confidence about music and his career. I agree he was a great talent and a lovely person.

I think he probably suffered from a problem called long QT syndrome. Basically, in an EKG, there are several periods that a heart beat is broken down to. The QT wave is normally protracted in most people, but with people that have this long QT period, they are at very high risk for sudden cardiac arrest with no real onset symptons. You wouldn't know that you had it, unless you went to a cardiologist to look for it. Anyhow, the standard treatment is an implanted defib unit to shock the heart once it stops for any prolapsed period of time. The incidence rate of long QT syndrome is really low in the population, and even the ones that have it will suffer very infrequent attacks. Most recover after what they think is a bout of syncope, or fainting spells.

By the way, cardiac arrest doesn't necessarily equal a heart attack in which coronary artery disease plays a large part of. Heart attacks usually lead to cardiac arrest, but not always. Cardiac arrest just means that the heart has stopped, and that is what happened to Steve Irwin's heart after the stingray struck it.

The sad thing is, I remember watching this guy about a year ago, and saw some of his videos online. I've been trying to remember his name, because he did a Mazurka by Albeniz that I really liked -- actually, really liked the fingerings he used. Anyhow, it's sad that something like this had to have happened for me to finally find his name again.
