View Full Version : New recording with "Angela"
Well, i made a recording with the Loriente "Angela" guitar,
so of course i had to post it @ GSI.. :D
They're the ones who hooked my up with this
awesome axe.
I feel like im really getting this guitar to sing now.
I can swear i hear the top opening up. This thing has
THE sound ive been searching for. The trebles are simply
dreamy. 8)
This is a piece called "Isabel" by Tarrega, and its this era of
great guitar music, that this guitar was made for. I couldnt be
happier with it, and hopefully, that comes through in the playing.:)
Hope ya like it.

This may be the best I've heard from you.
If there is a better interpretation of this piece, I've yet to hear it.
Chalk up another one for the P man.

Hey Todd,
I was hoping to hear something new from you! You never fail to impress.
The guitar sounds truly beautiful, as does your playing. I'll never know how you pull it off, given you use one of 'em devilpicks and all...

Lovely playing. Lovely tone. Maple? My old Giussani maple had a similar sound, although it didn't get as many notes right as yours does.
I know you posted this somewhere else - mind sending me a quick message with your recording setup, or your recommendations for one (pref PC based)?
Again, thanks for sharing.

Mitch: I was kidding about the sound recording setup. I was not kidding about the rest. :D

Haven't I said enough nice things about you this month? You're great already! Sheesh!
Seriously, though. I have a playlist in my media player where I've moved all of the Segovia, Russel, Cobo etc. CDs I've ripped onto my hard drive. In that list are just a very select few MP3s from forum performers like yourself and Prometheus from the Delcamp forum. These are the CG tracks I listen to because I enjoy them, not because I'm just being polite.
Well, this is definitely one more for the "A" list. Keep 'em coming.

Whenever one of Prometheus's pieces starts to play, i get on my knees
and bow. That guy is WAY too good, Jesus H Christos!
  I remember seeing that post that said
"Hungarian Rhapsody", and thinking, "yeah right, somebody's biting
off too much here", and then i listened and, let out a big Homer Simpson
DOH!!
But seriously! Im totally honoured hearing you say that Slim.
I happen to think you are one helluva musician your damn self.
Working on any cool pieces at the moment??

I hope to record several new ones real soon -- but I'm putting it off until my second C1000S arrives, which is late  . I've learned M.D. Pujol's "Stella Australis". It lies very well on the left hand and really isn't very difficult -- except to play it at tempo. I've actually had to get out the metronome and work some scale and arpeggio practice back into my routine. It's nearly there, though.
Also waiting for my copy of Sergio Assad's "Aquarelle". I ordered it from GSP with a gift certificate I got for Fathers Day! And it still isn't here yet! I have no intention of learning the whole piece, but I'd dearly like to learn the beautiful second movement, "Valseana".
What's up with GSP and Lemoine anyway? This is not some obscure piece by some unkown composer. It's been recorded in recent years by Grahm Devine and Ricardo Cobo, and was a required piece at a major competition not too long ago. But no on seems to be able to get it from France to the US.
(Sorry for the hijack  but you asked  )

I missed the guitar. I used to like Carmen instead. I guess Angela could be fine too. :D Although, I would like to see the Solista. The piece is great, and great execution. I prefer the videos, though, to make sure it is you! :D
