Is there a way they can be turned off via one's profile or at least disallowed in sigs? I find it really annoying to have to view a large graphic advertisement at the bottom of every post by certain individuals.
Edit: I'd like to add that allowing off-site avatar linking lets people disregard the rules:
... its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB.
Just ran across someone's avatar linked from myspace, it's 130x130 and 554K and it's animated!
Now imagine every member having an avatar and a sig image of half a meg each, all animated and blinking away at you while you're trying to read posts. I'm no longer on dialup, but I imagine a few people here are.
Edit #2: Furthermore, allowing HTML in posts and sigs is a huge security risk to the board. A meta refresh tag or a little javascript and visitors could be hijacked to another site or have spyware installed without their knowledge. BBCode is fine, HTML is not.
