He's playing in Boston tonight. Should be a great concert! I'll let you know how it goes.

Bach: Prelude, Fugue & Allegro
Barrios: La Catedral
Ponce: Sonatina Meridional
~Intermission~
Frank Wallace: For Silvius
Legnani: 5 Caprices
Rodrigo: Sonata Giocosa
Encore: Prelude, BWV 1006 (E major)
---
Bach and Barrios were beautiful--good tempi, good feel.
The Wallace was a quasi-Baroque work, titled "for Silvius" (Leopold Weiss), was because the composer, who was present, felt that it was a "cute" title (audience laughs). It's a work with the likenesss of a Baroque fantasia.
Legnani--fun. They're like gummy bears. Short, sweet, colorful.
The Ponce and the Rodrigo were the strongest pieces and you could tell Isaac really loved them. Rodrigo's signature minor-2nds were played in a way that they kept you on edge especially throughout the last movement.
You'll never guess from his sincerity that he has, say, cleared out a ton of competitions. We went out for beers afterwards and it was a good time.
Yeah , Issac is Great! He posts at Foroflamenco, (he loves Paco de Lucia)
and sometimes at Eborneo classical forum.
He's a really nice guy. Fantastic musician. He can play the
crap out of Scarlatti. wow
I agree about the Legnani. I assume you mean the Caprices.
They are really sweet, and fun to play. Some quite challenging.
Im working on one now. I think its number 7. Some killer
12 fret span arps. Really fun. 8)

Yea. He was actually going to play 3 Scarlatti sonatas and changed the program last minute, much to my sadness. It was still a great concert of course. And anyone who likes Paco gets another point from me.
