Hello to everyone in the GSI forum, im a brand newwy to this place, awesome place too ill say, i stumbled on this site by accident thru a Google.

My name is Gary and im from Adelaide Australia, ive seen a couple here from Adelaide, BenB is one, gooday mate, i have played blues, some jazz, alot of death metal for the last 10 years in between my painting and artwork that i also am heavily into, but it was 3 months ago i bought a classical guitar for my girlfriend, a very cheap one too i might add lol and my life has changed, just from having a play on her guitar that first day planted a seed in me, next day i searched for a classical in my price range, an Admira Maria, my first classical guitar, and im totally intrigued, and in love with classical guitar, i cant explain it but something clicked for me.

I have been practicing hard up to now, and things are getting easier, i havnt enjoyed playing guitar this much, just the feeling of physically playing, the bond to the guitar, the sound, the emotion, overwhelms me, anyway ill push on and plan on upgrading my guitar one day, perhaps a Ramirez SP lol.

Nice to be part of this forum and hope to learn alot from you guys out there, thanx and enjoy your playing cheers :)

Hey BenB, yeah i noticed you were from Adelaide first day i joined not longer than a few days ago............mate between working, practice, girlfriend, and practice, my weekends are pretty booked lol, but we would like to check out an event sometime tho.

A teacher, no, basically ive played guitar for 10 years but not classical, i am a convert, ill never play anything but a classical guitar there is no going back, at the moment ive almost finished my beginners classical guitar book, i then have Jason Waldrons Guitar Method Book 1 on the go also, then ill be moving on to the Complete Classical guitar manual, and between those books i squeeze in the Pumping Nylon work by Scott, im also working on Asturias bit by bit, and Cavatina a hardy so i have plenty on the go and its going fantastic, best thing i have ever done, i might consider a teacher one day im not sure................how long have you studied for BenB let us know what youre up to mate, talk to you sometime soon, cheers mate.

I've been playing for about 4 years now. I'm studying music at the university of Adelaide.
Funny you should mention Jason Waldrons book, he lives in Adelaide as well you know!

Yes i read he is in Adelaide, funny the people that end up being locals hey, i got a question for you Ben, if there are no string allocations on the staff in a piece, (#'s in a circle) is there an easy way to work out what fret to start on.
The reason i ask this is because i am working on a piece from 'The Library of Guitar Classics" and there are no string #'s given, there you go, problem #1 lol
cheers mate.
