I think this is a classical guitar forum, and not a place for a newbie to pimp their electric crap on their first post.
first post or not with a reply like that I see why classical guitarists get a bad rep!!!!!!
A little snooty don't ya think?

Before Sandra, I was just tempted to tell him that he found the wrong Forum for his style of music. Probably by now, he knows it :)
But there is no need to say it in a rude manner...as she did

It IS a classical guitar forum, and I always appreciate Sandra's posts and her take no prisoners attitude.
Yet, I watched and listened to the video and found it beautiful - and I'm no rock fan but this moved me.
So, what's the beef?
Are we too rigid and set in our ways to appreciate something a little different?
No need to insult the guy, though he did sort of bring it on himself.
I cant imagine going to a forum, and not even bothering to read
one or two posts just to see where it is im posting. Maybe introduce
myself or something.
My other question would be, why the hell are people still playing Guns
and Roses solo's from the early 90's?
November Rain?? Yeah, what a timeless classic.
Its all very twilight zone.

Competent and cleanly played. But, I'd like to hear some more soul in it. Use more vibrato, change up your attack, phrase and articulate the lines, etc. Still, very smooth and clean playing. Nice tone for a little practice amp!

Guynaa... it is a lovely performance, thank you for sharing it with this crowd of “plastic strings, long nails and foot stools”. Was it originally by “Guns and Roses”? Indeed an unlikely composer for a Forum mainly formed by a constituency of classical or flamenco guitar musicians. Yet, please do not allow the unpleasantries extended by the un-gentle member of this club grieve you. The association with anything ‘classical” does not necessarily endow with “classy” comportment. Although poorly and un-courteously expressed by Sandra, the suggestion remains true, that you are asking for a reaction from the wrong interlocutors: save for the occasional exception, most contributors do not plug-in, do not use picks, amplifiers and effects... and above all, play much differently.
Good form, as they say in cricket... much in common with baseball, yet not quite the same game.

Well, most of US are still playing solos from the early 90's too.
And I mean, the early 1890's, 1790's, and 1690's!

I have my doubts about the accuracy of this assesment. I think a significant percantage of us (maybe the majority) do (or have) plugged in, used picks and amps, etc.
It's the cool thing about classical guitarists -- despite the stereotypes, we're not as snobby as your average classical musician. A lot of us have experience in a variety of different styles and genres.

I have to agree here, sort of their overblown bloated rock star period opus. "Don't Cry" would have been a much better choice. Actually a much better choice would to have been to stick to Appetite for Destruction for your GNR material. Though its not my favorite song on the album, Sweet Child O Mine has one of rock's alltime great solos. I hope our new friend is paying attention.:)

Marc (libre) and Chris (Slim) i just visited your respective Web sites, and was very pleased and impressed by your work and performance. I do not disagree with you Slim. I wanted to mitigate the effects of what Sandra had written. Regarless, this Forum is a Cassical and Flameco Gitar Forum, hosted by a magnificent establshment solely dedicated to these two aspects of the Guitar. One could reasonably expect that contributors will stay the course, and suggest its latitude by more civilized words than Sandra chose to throw out there. However, all guitarists will at some point venture into steel strings, pick-ups and amplified tools. But the commonality of interest here focuses on Classical... unfortunately not always on Class!
Ciao.

I think Appetite was absolutely brilliant actually. I dont mind hearing
Mr. Brownstone or Night Train once in a blue moon. :D
To Libre, yes, we're playing old music, but what i was pointing out was,
November Rain isnt exactly a "classic".
To me, a classic rock solo is something like "Do you feel like i do" by
Frampton, or "Kid Charlamagne" by Steely Dan

Sorry if I didn't mince my words well enough for some of you. But I've been around forums long enough to recognize a drive-by when I see one.
Still think he's not pimping? It's a copy/paste with the same typo of "fist" for "first".

C'mon Sandra. The kid made a video in his living room and he wants to show it off and get some feedback. I wouldn't call it "pimping."
I sometimes post links to my latest homemade project at more than one site -- and even post it with the same text. Since we're not selling anything, you can't call us pimps. We're just sluts (for attention) giving it away for free!
