Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I'm having a guitar made by Greg Byers and I flew from Boston to Willits Ca. to meet him and discuss the guitar that he is making for me and one of the questions I asked him was if he fine tunes his guitars after there built? He said definitely not! The sound he strives for should be there upon completion of the guitar... Very warm and humble person I might add.

Interesting: let's consider Steve Connor. He's extremely humble and super nice. He has infinite curiosity and dedication and he's always searching and looking to make things better. He'll take his time to listen, consider, think, etc.

I've seen Eliot Fisk go through Connor's guitars and assess. Eliot is of course very attuned to the guitar and its subtleties and has worked with Connor for a few years now. Eliot once said that whenever he gave a guitar back to Connor (which were excellent already), they always came back better.

Now Connor is working with Angel Romero to develop some new things in guitar buildling. Amazing.

I should clarify what I mean by "fine tuning" when Greg completes a guitar he does not go through the sound hole to shave the bracing in order to "fine tune" the sound of the guitar. I got the impression that Greg listens very carefully to feed back in order improve the sound of his guitars.
