Just wondered what Reboliço means, and how to pronounce it.
I'm working on this piece (by Pernambuco) - what a fun piece of music.

The spelling is probably "rebulico", here's a link with the piece and explanations in the comments regarding the spelling and meaning. Hopefully it's the same piece.

Thanks for the link, Campbell (or should that be Mr. Campbell?). That's good playing and some interesting fingering here and there (different from mine, anyway!!)
My sheet music spelled it Reboliço, and I had failed to find the meaning online. So the explanation on your link is very helpful. So can everyone have it wrong? It's on David Russel's Aire Latino CD, with the spelling I originally gave.
Anyway, a fun piece of music and I certainly enjoyed the playing on the link. Thanks very much.

Clamor
Pronunciation: 'kla-m&r
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French clamour, from Latin clamor, from clamare to cry out -- more at CLAIM
1 a : noisy shouting b : a loud continuous noise
2 : insistent public expression (as of support or protest) <a clamor against increased taxes>
courtesy an online translator, no guarantees this is correct

PaulB, it's just campbell. Rebuliço is a very sweet piece, thanks for bringing it to the forum. I re-listened to David Russel playing the piece, very, very nice.
I hope to hear a posting of you playing the piece in the future.

Thanks Campbell,
I'll need to get some recording gear first - which is something I want to do. I sometimes feel it would be good to hear what I am really playing and give myself the opportunity to improve. When you play by yourself the moment is gone, so to speak and the errors and poor interpretation remain. But I guess that's another topic.
