A few weeks ago I appeared with a good friend, John Dennewitz, at WURI (University of Rhode Island). Their classical portion is called "Divertimento" and the host that day was a great guy named Bob Kinzel.

We were there to promote a concert but also talked about a number of things. I also went live and played 2 pieces by Barrios in their cold, way-too-early (10:30 AM) studio.

Please check it out here:

Steve, that was very nice. :)

Congrats! vgorecordings.com offers a lot of good stuff, like yours and Grisha's.

I bought a number of CDs from them some time ago and was very happy with their customer service and products. I am glad to support a label that supports their artists and gives them an outlet they don't get via the majors. :)

hm I wonder if that's the same Bob Kinzel I grew up with on Vermont Public Radio every morning. Anyway, good stuff Steve. And nice choice of rep. I've heard you mention before that Barrios is good for this kind of stuff and I'd agree.

Great Googly Moogly

Steve,

The amazing performances go without saying. When you said "The Bees" at first, I thought you were going to be performing another Barrios piece. :) I'm working on El Abejorro myself right now but am not sure whether I'll ever get it up to that speed. Great job.

Sandra,
Yes, VGo is fantastic. From an artist's point of view, it doesn't get any better than this. What I particularly love is that I as an artist can have complete control over the entire CD production process. The best analogy is the mom & pop restaurant where you get personal attention, good vibes, care for details, desire to put out a great product, etc.

James,
Could be! Does his voice sound familiar?

Locust,
Thanks man! I don't play Barrios' "Las Abejas" though maybe I should try learning it some day.

Sandra,

By the way, Grisha has a new CD out. I just got mine today and the thing is fantastic! It's an album of all Sabicas and the playing is phenomenal.
