Kenneth Brogger is one of Europe's leading builders of traditional Spanish-style guitars. He has been active for over a quarter of a century as a luthier, writer, restorer of old instruments and museum exhibitor. As a result of his tireless efforts, Brögger has become highly regarded in his native country of Denmark, and was honored by the Queen of Denmark in 1997 when he was awarded the "Applied Arts Prize of 1879" and a silver Hetsch Medal, the highest recognition in the field of artisan craftsmanship. His building style is very reminscent of the old Spanish masters (Garcia, Simplicio, Fleta) yet shows signs of the French and Granada schools (Bouchet, Friederich, Marin) as well.

This guitar is built with stunning flamed maple back and sides, as well as the exceptionally high-quality spruce found on all Brögger guitars. This instrument has the same power and volume of his rosewood guitars yet retains the additional warm glow of the maple. The guitar is reminiscent of the charming maple guitars of the early Madrid school, and is decorated with beautiful herringbone purfling and a perfectly executed rosette. The guitar is easy to play and has a very smooth neck with comfortable action. We recommend this builder highly and are excited to be representing his guitars in the USA.
